
Dance Team Coach - Natomas High School at Natomas Unified School District
Requirements / Qualifications
The Dance Team Coach is responsible for all aspects of the dance team as well as being committed to the academic mission of Natomas High School. The Dance Team Coach teaches dance to students and provides for the coaching, recruitment, and retention of students participating as members of the dance team 1.) Coaches and instructs the team during practices and games. 2.) Assesses skills and assigns team positions. 3.) Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time to provide both individual and team development. 4.) Schedules facilities for practices with an Administrative Assistant in the Athletic Department. 5.) Coaches and instructs dance teams, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport. 6.) Observe the dance team during events and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement. 7.) Establishes and maintains standards of behavior and provides proper supervision. 8.) Follows established procedures in the event of an injury. 9.) Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the program. 10.) Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards the dance team, officials, and spectators. 11.) Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met. 12.) Evaluate, recruit, and retain students to the dance team. 13.) Hold organizational meetings for team prospects and encourage students to participate. 14.) Meets recruitment and retention goals set by the College. 15.) Provides recruitment and retention reports to the Athletic Director. 16.) Acts as a team representative and promotes the dance team by communicating with the Athletic Director, School Administration, and other organizations. 17.) Follows established procedures for supplies and uniforms. 18.) Participates in special activities.
A Coach must have the: • 2 years of coaching or /playing experience at the High School Level. Demonstrated ability to direct students in the skills, strategy, and techniques of the sport. • CPR/First Aid card • Current TB Test • Live Scan clearance (after hired) Please note that we require three references, one of them must be the most recent supervisor. Please be sure to add your three references and all attachments to your EDJOIN application. **All of the Certificates and Required Materials must be completed and turned in before coaching can begin.
