Job Summary

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Special Education/Early Learning Principal, the Early Learning Assistant Principal/Special Education Manager coordinates and supervises personnel assigned to programs serving students eligible for Special Education services within the district, as well as carries primary responsibility at the site level for all early learning components; plans and implements developmentally appropriate curriculum for each child; aides in creating an environment that invites children to explore, create, discuss and share. Coordinates and plans parent education meetings based on family needs. Responsible for supervising staff and other volunteers working on site. This dual role demands an experienced leader skilled in special education administration, including assisting staff, providing consultation, coordinating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and supporting school site needs. Simultaneously, as the Early Learning Assistant Principal, this role extends to providing visionary leadership for the organization's early learning program, encompassing Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten (TK). The Assistant Principal helps in shaping the trajectory of early childhood education, teacher professional development, and oversees the development and implementation of a robust curriculum that sets a strong foundation for future learning.
