PAYROLL/ATTENDANCE TECHNICIAN 7:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. / EIGHT (8) HOURS/TWELVE (12) MONTHS Qualifications: 1. Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by college level coursework in accounting or related field and two years clerical accounting experience including one year payroll experience. 2. Perform a variety of technical duties in the preparation of payroll for certificated and/or classified personnel. 3. Learn, interpret, apply and explain applicable laws, codes, policies and procedures. 4. Assure employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner. 5. Prepare and maintain a variety of automated and manual records and reports. 6. Interpret, apply and explain laws, rules and regulations related to payroll activities. 7. Process payroll and related records for payrolls. 8. Monitor, audit, adjust and reconcile payroll data. 9. Perform a variety of duties related to attendance accounting and record-keeping at an assigned school site involving frequent and responsible public contacts. 10. Prepare, maintain and account for attendance records and reports. 11. Identify, investigate and resolve financial errors and discrepancies. 12. Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer and assigned software. 13. Compare numbers and detect errors efficiently. 14. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 15. Assemble, organize and prepare data for records and reports. 16. Work confidentially with discretion. 17. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. 18. Monitor financial activity of assigned budgets and accounts. 19. Review, process, evaluate and verify a variety of budgetary and financial information. 20. Maintain accurate financial and statistical records. 21. Reconcile, balance and audit assigned budgets and accounts.
