Job Summary

Mariposa County Unified School District is seeking a highly motivated and driven candidate to join our team as an Agriculture Teacher at Mariposa County High School. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in teaching and expanding our Agriculture Program. This position is an addition to a dynamic three-person agriculture department, and we are looking for a team-oriented individual who is committed to excellence. This position is grant-funded until the end of the 2026-2027 school year and could continue if funding is available in the future years. Responsibilities: *Teach a variety of courses within the Agriculture Program, including but not limited to Floral *Design, Ornamental Horticulture, Ag Chemistry, Agriculture Mechanics, and Animal Science. *Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement engaging curriculum and instructional strategies. *Utilize our state-of-the-art facilities, including greenhouse, shade house, walk-in floral fridge, and lab areas, to provide hands-on learning experiences for students. *Mentor FFA students in on-site Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs) and provide project supervision for livestock. *Guide students in FFA leadership development and coach them in Career Development Events (CDEs). *Supervise students in competitions, including CDE competitions throughout the school year and livestock competitions at the county fair. *Maintain open communication with students, parents, colleagues, and community stakeholders to foster strong support for the Agriculture Program. This position is part of the Certificated Teacher Unit at MCUSD/MCOE and will be placed depending on experience and education on the Certificated Teacher Employee Salary schedule. Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications: *Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education *Valid teaching credential or ability to obtain one in the state of California. *Experience teaching agriculture courses and working with FFA programs preferred. *Strong knowledge of agricultural practices, including plant science, mechanics, and animal husbandry. *Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. *Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. *Dedication to student success and a commitment to maintaining the tradition of quality in our Agriculture Program.
