Job Summary

Under the direction of the Administrative Director, Food Services and guidance of the Kitchen Managers, oversee and participate in the operation of the snack bar at a high school site; prepare and serve hot and cold food items; maintain snack bar facilities and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition; perform cashiering duties utilizing computers; train and provide work direction and guidance to assigned staff and student assistants.

• Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school. • Three years increasingly responsible experience in the preparation and serving of food in large quantities including work with inventory functions. • ServSafe Certificate (Food Service Certification-Safety and Sanitation).

      Location: Brea Olinda High School Hours: 8.0 hours/9.5 months Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm 5 days/week, Monday- Friday Sick leave and vacation are earned at a rate of one day per month. An insurance policy is available for hospitalization, major medical, dental, vision, and life. School employees must join the State School Employees Retirement System. California School Employees Association Agreement Article VI, 6.1.3 states: “Voluntary transfer/promotion requests by an employee for an opening shall be given prior consideration over a new employee.” Article VI, 6.3.2 states: “When a new position is created or an existing position becomes vacant, the District shall first offer the opportunity to transfer or to seek promotion to bargaining unit employees.” All applicants must possess the personal qualifications generally recognized as essential to become an understanding public employee including integrity, initiative, dependability, courtesy, good judgment, and ability to work with others. Applicants may be rejected on the basis of an incomplete application or failure to meet the minimum posted qualifications. Individuals meeting the minimum and/or preferred qualifications will be contacted after the closing date for testing.
