General Description of Position Goals: Under the supervision of the Director of Expanded Learning Programs. The Coordinator of Expanded Learning will collaborate with the Director of Expanded Learning and school site coordinators to enhance Expanded Learning Programming / ELO-P, building and strengthening community relationships, ensuring the programs meet anticipated targets. Provide general supervision to, coordinate with, and monitor Expanded Learning programs / ELO-P at CVUSD schools before and after school programs; asses program quality, compliance, and operations; prepare a variety of records and reports related to assigned activities; recruit, train, and evaluate personnel. This position requires a non-traditional schedule which will include before school, after school, programming during holidays, weekends, evening events, and intersession. Travel and use of personal vehicle is required.

Job Requirements/Qualifications 1. Experience: At least three (3) years’ experience of demonstrated successful Expanded Learning or afterschool programming. District, school site level and/or community based administrative experience OR to have any combination of demonstrated experience considered by the Administration and Governing Board to provide the ability to perform successfully in the position. 2. Education: AA degree in the field of liberal studies. 3. English/Spanish, desirable. 4. Other Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing: • Department of Homeland Security I-9 Form completion • TB Test Clearance • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance • Must possess a valid California Driver’s License during the course of employment. Must be insurable at standard rates and maintain such insurability during the course of employment. • COVID-19 vaccine

The Coachella Valley is a valley in Southern California which extends for approximately 45 mi in Riverside County southeast from the San Bernardino Mountains to the northern shore of the Salton Sea. Coachella Valley Unified School District is located is located about 30 miles east of Palm Springs off Highway 86.
The valley connects with the Greater Los Angeles area to the west via the San Gorgonio Pass, a major transportation corridor that includes I-10 and the Union Pacific Railroad. The valley is part of the 13th-largest metropolitan area in the United States, the Inland Empire metropolitan area. The famous desert resort cities of Palm Springs and Palm Desert lie in the Coachella Valley. The Coachella Valley is the second largest sub-region in the Inland Empire, after the Greater San Bernardino Area which may be due to the number of seasonal residents in the winter months which at peak times may surpass 100,000 with another 3.5 million annual conventioneers and tourists.
