Purpose Statement/Job Definition:
The Speech and Language Pathologist serves both general education and special education students at Albert Einstein Academies and provides support for middle school teachers. The SLP upholds the mission and values established by Albert Einstein Academies.
Essential Functions:
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide direct individual or small group instruction to identified students on a regularly scheduled basis as required in the IEP.
- Collaborate with other personnel working with identified students.
- Participate in developing and implementing Individual Educational Plans for students who qualify for speech/language services, either with the IEP team or as a primary case manager.
- Implement and monitor IEP of students who qualify for speech/language services.
- Screen, assess, and provide specialized speech and language services to students who qualify for services through an IEP or meet the designated criteria for general education speech improvement groups.
- Consult with school personnel and parents.
- Develop instructional materials and strategies for special education students in an inclusive, mainstream classroom.
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Albert Einstein Academies’ mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Job Requirements:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual/Biliterate—English/Spanish (desired, not required)
• Strong presentation abilities including the ability to explain specialized information to others in clear, simple terms.
• Experience in assessment and analysis of assessment data
• Strong problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
• Ability to thrive in a rigorous environment; flexible, able to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
• Valid California SLP Services credential
Experience required:
• 2+ years as a Speech and Language Therapist, educational setting preferred
• Proficiency with Google Docs/Drive and Gmail
Essential Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations.
- Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit on the ground on carpet for extended period of time.
- Ability to lift and move and carry objects of up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to see for purposes of reading correspondence, documents and printed matter and observing students.
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
- Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation.

CA Speech -Language Pathology Services Credential REQUIRED full-time with experience or Fellowship (with on-site mentor support)
