The Long Beach Community College District is seeking qualified individuals for a current opportunity as a Curriculum Schedule Technician. This incumbent performs a variety of difficult and technical duties in developing, updating and maintaining the District's master schedule of classes. Work requires a detailed understanding of the functions and operations of applicable modules of the District's computer systems and close attention to detail to ensure changes are made with a high degree of accuracy in a timely manner. We are looking for someone who has obtained an Associate's degree in business, public administration, or a related field. Additionally, this candidate must have 2 years of progressively responsible technical or administrative experience involving the maintenance of detailed records and reports utilizing PeopleSoft or an equivalent system. Duties
GENERAL PURPOSE
Under general supervision, reviews, processes and enters schedule change forms to update and maintain the District's master schedule of classes; and performs related duties as assigned.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Curriculum/Schedule Technicians perform a variety of difficult and technical duties in developing, updating and maintaining the District's master schedule of classes. Work requires a detailed understanding of the functions and operations of applicable modules of the District's computer systems and close attention to detail to ensure changes are made with a high degree of accuracy in a timely manner.
Curriculum/Schedule Technician is distinguished from Schedule Specialist in that an incumbent in the latter class has overall responsibility for coordinating and building master class schedules for each semester.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience:
An Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible administrative experience involving the maintenance of detailed records and reports utilizing PeopleSoft or an equivalent system; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
May require a valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidatequalifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitiveamongst the applicant pool to proceed.

Test parts are determined by the size and competitiveness of the candidate pool.Only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the examination process. Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations.
