The school seeks a candidate who can promote the school’s Lasallian Catholic mission of serving students and can promote the school’s core values of faith, integrity, and scholarship. PRIMARY ROLE ? Maintains open, helping relationships with students. Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process. ? Works with and teaches the established and approved curriculum in English and contributes to its development. ? Effectively manages instructional time and student behavior. ? Ensures that student growth and achievement are continuous and appropriate for age group and subject area. ? Assumes responsibility for meeting his/her course goals and expected school-wide learning results. ? Attends and participates in department meetings, professional development programs, as well as actively and continually participates in the co-curricular life of the school. ? Works collaboratively and cooperatively with faculty, staff, administration, and parents. ? Demonstrates evidence of commitment to a vision for 21st-century teaching and learning and the ability to bring such a commitment to service on a daily basis. ? Believes in the work of Lasallian Catholic education and shows evidence of developing the whole person through activities that help students grow in mind, body, soul, and spirit. ? Has the skills to work with a variety of student needs and to serve multiple learning styles. ? Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS ? Minimally holds a Bachelor’s degree in English or related field. Single-subject teaching credential and graduate degree preferred. Experience teaching high school English is also preferred. ? Qualified applicants who are Catholic receive priority consideration.
