Job Summary

Job Summary

Under general supervision and at the direction of the High School Principal and the Superintendent of the Valley Regional Occupational Program or designee coordinates CTE Counselor will assist students with the development of their career portfolio and pursuit of college admission. They will focus on the needs of CTE students and help build CTE programs by communicating with site, district, county, and community college entities to assure communication and articulation of CTE course pathways. The counselor is responsible for providing course guidance to CTE students and leadership to CTE teachers on high school and middle school sites. The CTE counselor is also responsible to oversee the SkillsUSA chapter and to empower students thru leadership opportunities. Full time with benefits, 190-day contract.

Requirements / Qualifications

A photocopy of the applicant’s Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree and Pupil, Personnel Services Credential or evidence of 3 years experience in Social work or comparable experience. 4. Applicants must meet qualifications and provide all necessary materials in order to qualify as a candidate.

Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor Degree required (Educational Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, School Counseling or Marriage and Family Counseling Degree – preferred) • California Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS) – required • Master's degree in any of the above- preferred Desired Qualifications • Experience working with Career Technical Education, Regional Occupational Programs, college guidance or career guidance programs The following documents are required to apply for the position:
