Job Summary

Are you passionate about teaching because you believe that working with students is the most rewarding and exciting profession? Are you an educator who wants to have the freedom to ignite passion in your students? Do you imagine waking up every morning excited to come to work? If so, please read on: Beyond School is seeking a talented and dynamic teacher who is passionate about working with students in a creative environment. Beyond School is an innovative micro school in its inaugural year. We offer a mixed grade classroom serving a diverse group of students ranging from 8-12 years of age. Students learn via project based/experiential learning. We also focus on Mindfulness and place an extreme importance on the development of the whole child. We are actively building an incredible staff of individuals who are dynamic, kind, and fun who wish to be the pioneers of this innovative model of education. The foundation for learning at Beyond School is inquiry based through project learning. The ideal candidate will have experience with project-based learning and/or other exploratory hands-on/interactive ways that teach skills and concepts through student inquiry. Student voice, choice and wonder are at the center of our learning. We invite professional experts from the community who are passionate about their subject matter to support the daily learning of our students. Projects integrate subject matter creatively and student products demonstrate learning in a variety of ways. When not doing project work, students are continually invested in their learning through other hands-on active strategies (building, experimentation, games and movement). Text books, worksheets, and passive learning are not a part of our repertoire. We are all about learning through doing. As our Primary Teacher, your multifaceted role encompasses creating a dynamic culture, differentiating instruction, meeting students where they're at, and actively cultivating a positive learning environment
