Beach Cities Learning is looking for a full-time SPED Teacher for Manhattan Beach, CA for 2024/2025 school year. This job requires CA Education Specialist Instruction (Mild- Moderate Disabilities). The classroom has no more than 12 students. Beach Cities Learning offers a competitive compensation plan ( negotiable), comprehensive benefits and 401(k)plan, paid holidays and personal time off, also we have a tuition reimbursement for up to $ 2000 per year. Relocation assistance of $ 2500 is available for out-of-state candidates or Sign-on bonus of $ 2500 if you are in CA already. Responsibilities Provide guidance and professional development of all on-site teachers including monthly reviews and trainings with staff Mentor new teachers on policies and procedures of BCL Program. Review and provide feedback of all documents and reports for meetings IEP, Parent, Quarterly reports * Attend IEP meetings and help teachers schedule them if necessary. Ensure proper coverage of anything before or afterschool as needed Help Coordinate proper coverage of staff When necessary coordinate with management and local police only emergency situations Conduct meeting with BCL Admin weekly Conduct teacher team meetings once per week and classroom team meetings on a daily basis Help schedule enrollment and reintegration meetings in a timely manner Provide professional development to staff as well as attend professional development as outlined by organization Help maintain all campus contacts which may include but is not limited to: site and district administrator, staff, and parent contacts Keep track of related service providers attention on sign in sheet Assist in interviewing of potential candidates Provide regular teaching duties as outlined in Special Education Teacher job description Works with Compliance Specialist in keeping all school Compliance and Certifications documentations up to date (To include WASC, CDE site Visits) Knowledge, Skills, Ab

Special Education Teachers work in a school-based setting and are responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an individual instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with policies.

  • Develop and implement student Individual Education Plans.
  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. 
  • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
  • Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process

Qualifications

  • Valid California Special Education Certification(Cross Categorical or Mild/Moderate)
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 1 year of experience working with students with emotional disabilities preferred.
  • Spanish speaking a plus.  Not required.
