Job Summary

Spivak Educational Center is seeking an Elementary Teacher to help cultivate developmental, academic, social, and behavioral growth of our students. A full time teacher will lead General Studies for Elementary or Middle School students, while also working as part of the General Studies team, through meetings and reporting to the Director of Education of the school. Duties and Responsibilities: • Display efficiency in classroom management and leading class • Implement plans for differentiated classroom instruction • Working with class as whole, as well as individual students, and small groups • Facilitate social, emotional, and academic development of students • Prepare indoor learning environment, and extend learning to outdoor learning experiences in line with our experiential philosophy • Attend Faculty meetings and professional development • Perform duties as required by the school and General Studies team Qualifications: • Knowledge and experience with differentiated and small group instruction • Special Ed. background preferred, but not required • Flexible, Organized, Energetic, and Friendly • Excellent classroom Management • Proficiency with Curriculum Planning • Strong Team Player • Knowledge of student-centered, collaborative, and inquiry based teaching methodologies • Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-through skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully • Desire for ongoing professional development • High degree of professional behavior, including discretion, judgment, and integrity • Passion for their desire to teach and to learn from young people • Willingness to take risks and seize leadership opportunities as they arise • Commitment to staying current with research on best practice Education/Credentials: • Bachelors Degree Required • CA Teaching Credentials Required
