Job Summary

The Resource Specialist works under the direction of the Director of Special Education Programs and serves as a resource to students and teachers at Special Education Schools.

Requirements / Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - California Credential authorizing service as a Resource Specialist - Experience in teaching adolescent students with exceptional needs - Possess an appropriate California operator's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles with State minimum insurance coverage - Knowledge of diagnostic procedures to identify specific learning disabilities - Knowledge of core curriculum - Knowledge’s, skills and abilities of pertinent laws and regulations - Ability to provide staff development, in-service and parent education - Ability to interact with and maintain cooperative relationships with all levels of staff and the public - Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both orally and in writing
