Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher Assistant I/II, under the general supervision of the Supervisor-Head Start Preschool Sites, supports the implementation of a comprehensive education program and assists in ensuring that the education program is developmentally appropriate for each child’s individual needs and meets the program standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Teacher Assistant I: Education: Six (6) semester units in Early Childhood Education Experience: Some experience working in a childcare program. Teacher Assistant II: Education: One year of college-level course work in Early Childhood Education or an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field. 12 semester units must be in Early Childhood Education or Child Development (including 3 core areas: "CUR," "CFC," "GCD." Experience: six to nine months experience working in a child care/preschool program Please note: If you were educated outside of the US, you must have your foreign transcripts evaluated by an approved agency.
