Job Summary

Job Summary

Los Angeles County Office of Education, Division of Student Programs, is looking for highly motivated and results-driven individuals to apply for the position of Program Manager, Parent Education. The Program Manager, Parent Education is responsible for supervising the development and implementation of programs to promote parent education, family engagement, and community involvement in LACOE schools. In addition, this position consults with school administrators, public/parent engagement organizations, and county offices to provide guidance and technical support. This position also evaluates and reports program effectiveness to stakeholders and coordinates contracts with outside vendors.

Requirements / Qualifications

Experience: Four years of experience developing and administering parent training programs, counseling adults, facilitating school relationships with community groups, connecting students with community services agencies, or organizing and/or leading government-mandated meetings such as Title I or PAC meetings. Two years of the required experience must include program management in an education or social-services organization. Education: A bachelor’s degree in communications, social services, career development, counseling, education or other fields related to the job requirements for this classification, from an institute of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Equivalency Provision: A master’s degree in communications, social services, career development, counseling, education or other fields related to the job requirements for this classification, from an institute of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Additional Requirements/Information: Some positions in this classification may be required to work evenings and weekends on an adjusted schedule. A valid California driver license and availability of private transportation or ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required. Some positions in this classification may require oral and written skills in a second designated language.
