About the Employer
The Wasco Union Elementary School District serves over 3,650 students in grade levels pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Founded in 1940, the district is comprised of four elementary schools and two middle schools. The district strives to provide a rigorous and supportive educational program, strong community partnerships and high levels of parental involvement. Our mission is to provide all students an education which promotes lifelong learning, an appreciation for diversity, and responsible citizenship. Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Possess a California Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility Possess a master’s or doctoral degree from a California accredited college or university and provide evidence of continued professional growth Must possess a private vehicle, valid California driver’s license, and carry current automobile insurance with at least minimum coverage for public liability and property damage Willingness to research and take responsibility for studying and implementing current trends, innovations, and practices in special education Must abide by the policies and procedures of the district and conduct oneself in a professional and efficient manner Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions are met Professional Qualifications: Proven ability to serve as a leader in developing, promoting, and improving instructional practices and educational programs that will enhance special education outcomes for children Proven ability to accurately analyze situations and adopt a practical course of action Ability to provide leadership in committees and special projects within special education, interagency, and parent groups Ability to be creative and to make quick decisions based on a sound educational philosophy Ability to establish successful working relationships and rapport with individuals and diverse groups Successful experience as a teacher, specialist, or administrator in the field of special education Successful experience related to staff management, program development, and budget preparation
