About the Employer
We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. The Antioch Unified School District is a Merit System District. As such, final selection of our classified staff members will be made from candidates who have been placed on an eligibility list. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screening/scoring of a candidate’s training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.

Unit: CSEA Number of Vacancies: 1 Classification Hours/Days: 6.5 hours / 180 Days (School Days Only) Salary Range 118: Step A $20.79, Step B $21.85, Step C $22.95, Step D $24.11, Step E $25.33, Step F $26.62 Promotional/Open: The promotional group as well as the al public may apply. The promotional side of the eligibility list shall take precedence when certifying eligibles. APPLICATION DEADLINE: TUESDAY, JANUARY 30, 2024 by 4:30 PM. BASIC JOB FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Supervisor-Central Kitchen, perform a variety of functions at the Central Kitchen including receiving, inspecting, processing, and issuing food items and supplies; shelve, store, and prepare food service items for delivery. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and one year experience at the level of a Nutrition Services Assistant II.
SELECTION & EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of a competitive application screening for completeness, qualifications, and experience. If your application is accepted to move forward with the testing process, you will be notified via email of the date and location of the exams. A written examination (weighted 40%) and an oral panel interview (weighted 90%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion of the exams. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores. Required Strength Testing: All offers of employment are conditional upon the applicant’s satisfactory results of the Post Offer, Pre-Placement Physical Evaluation Program (PEP). This physical strength test helps us select employee candidates that have demonstrated a minimum level of strength to perform the essential functions of the job.
