Job Summary

The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for a Coordinator, Expanded Learning for the Expanded Learning department of the Student Services and Programs division. The job of Coordinator, Expanded Learning, is done for the purpose/s of coordinating an assigned program and related activities; serves school districts as main point of contact for system of support for expanding learning providing information, implementing, and maintaining services within established guidelines and standards. This position is full-time and will offer the certificated management benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and will participate in the CalSTRS state retirement system. This position is grant-funded through multiple grants that may be renewed on three-year cycles. ABOUT EXPANDED LEARNING DEPARTMENT The Expanded Learning Team provides professional development and technical assistance to After School Education and Safety (ASES), 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC), After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs), and Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs (ELO-P) in San Diego County. The team assists districts in the implementation of a variety of comprehensive programs designed to increase academic achievement by promoting positive behaviors and engaging students in learning, academic enrichment, and physical activity before and after school.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires:

Education and Experience:

Experience: Five (5) years successful experience in K-12 education; Experience supervising or
managing the implementation of before and/or after school programs in public schools; Experience planning and leading meetings, activities, and professional development; experience managing budgets and supervising staff; and,

Education: Bachelors degree in education, education administration or related area.

--OR--

Equivalency: A combination of education and experience equivalent to Five (5) years of successful experience in K-12 education; Experience supervising or managing the implementation of before and/or after school programs in public schools; Experience planning and leading meetings, activities, and professional development; experience managing budgets and supervising staff.

Certificates, Licenses, Credentials

  • A valid CA Administrative Services credential
  • A valid CA Multiple Subject, Single Subject or equivalent credential
  • A valid CA Driver’s License
