JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT: Under the oversight of the designated lead worker, and supervision of the Food Service Supervisor, to assist in the operation of a school food service program by performing large quantity cooking, baking, and BBQ grilling to serve food to students and staff at a District facility; related duties, including performing routine and/or repetitive food service work. The incumbents in this classification assist in providing students with nutritious meals which directly supports student learning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience Required: Prior job-related experience, in food preparation, serving and basic kitchen activities is desirable, preferably including cashier duties. LICENSE REQUIRED: 1. Possession of a valid California Driver’s License or California Identification. 2. ServSafe certificate 3. Appropriate Food Handler Permit *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Knowledge of: 1. Health codes and sanitation principles 2. Operation of automatic scanning and tabulating equipment 3. Basic arithmetic 4. Standard office equipment 5. Basic computer operation, including related software 6. Safe food handling processes Skills: 1. Typing accurately at a reasonable rate 2. Interpersonal skills using, patience and courtesy with students, administration, and staff Ability to: 1. Understand and carryout oral and written instructions 2. Process cash meal sales in a correct and efficient manner 3. Work well as part of a team 4. Work in a fast-paced environment 5. Participate in team building and a maintaining professional work environment 6. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others, including students, staff and the public. 7.
