Our students are junior tennis players interested in playing tennis at the collegiate level. Position: Science Teacher (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) Location: Weil Tennis Academy and College Preparatory School in Ojai, California Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:55 am - 12:10 pm; Science Labs every Friday, 8:15 am - 10:00 am Weil Tennis Academy and College Preparatory School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Science Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. The successful candidate will have expertise in teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to high school students. As a Science Teacher at our institution, you will play a crucial role in inspiring and educating the next generation of scientists. This is a mid-year vacancy position that needs to be filled ASAP. The start date for our new teacher is January 22, 2024. This position may lead to a full-time position next school year. Responsibilities: • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking. • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles. • Conduct and supervise science labs every Friday, providing hands-on experiences for students. • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and other assessments. • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the science curriculum. • Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities. • Must be proficient with technology and able to utilize our LMS (Canvas) • Attend bi-monthly Teacher Meetings on Monday afternoons from 12:15-1:00 pm • Hold Office Hours one night per week from 7-8:30 pm • Act as Advisor to a small group of students Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). • Demonstrated expertise in teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at the high school level. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
