Job Summary
Under general supervision this classified position is responsible for providing direct clerical support to the Curriculum Facilitator, assisting other District Office staff with routine filing and copying as needed, providing receptionist service for the District Office and facilitating receiving and categorizing all purchase orders during the summer. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES The following examples of duties are designed to describe the types of responsibilities, but are not meant to be a detailed list of all specific tasks to be accomplished. • Types, files, and circulates miscellaneous documents, form letters, memos and bulletins. • Orders instructional materials, verifies receipt of order and assists in distribution of materials. • Assists in arranging for conference participation and allocating of appropriate budget. • Copies materials and prepares for distribution. • Prepares materials, coordinates locations, sets-up and arranges refreshments for staff development training sessions and curriculum meetings. • Meets, greets and directs District Office visitors to the appropriate location. • Answers incoming calls and connects to the correct party. • Gives routine information in response to inquiries. • Receives, signs for and notifies proper individual of packages delivered. • Sorts and distributes incoming mail to District personnel. • Assists District Office staff with routine filing, organizing and copying as needed. • Organizes purchase orders for materials from all sites to be received during the summer; receives orders, verifies completeness and prepares for distribution to sites. 2DODISTSEC

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
• Functions of modern office methods and procedures, including filing systems, telephone
techniques
• Use of computer, word processing, spreadsheet and databases
• Positive professional attitude
Ability to:
• Represent the District in a courteous and positive manner in person and over the telephone
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Skillfully operate data processing/computer equipment
• Interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations and District policies and procedures pertaining to the assignment
• Establish and maintain a variety of specialized and complex records and files
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and demonstrate interest in assisting others
• Type accurately at the rate of 45 words per minute
• Prioritize and report to a variety of individuals
• Pick-up refreshments and deliver refreshments/materials to meeting locations
Experience/Education:
• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade
• Prior office experience
Note: This is a union position. Employee participates in Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS).
