The San Diego Unified School District is accepting applications for Clerical and Secretarial Staff Substitute Assignments These assignments are on-call, as needed and are paid hourly and do not qualify you for regular salaried positions with our district. Please note that the hourly pay rate will be based on assignments accepted. Substitute hourly assignments are not eligible for benefits and must be flexible and able to adapt to a changing environment. Hourly rates start at $16.00/hr Examples of Duties Clerical and secretarial positions perform a wide variety of general office-clerical and secretarial duties in a school or administrative office including but not limited to: Serve as a Receptionist. Enroll and transfer pupils; verify and process pupil absence and attendance data. Explain policies and procedures to pupils, staff and the public. Type forms, correspondence, reports, and purchase orders. Maintain operational records and business files, and prepare reports. Maintain acquisition and circulation records for books and audiovisual materials and equipment. Maintain time sheets and minor financial accounts. Schedule appointments and meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to a high school graduation. Paid, office-clerical experience is desired, bilingual verbal and written skills are highly desirable.

EXAMINATION PROCESS:
The examination process will consist of an application screening based on the candidate's education, work history and responses to the supplemental questions. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. Candidates selected to proceed in the examination process will be invited to an interview.
