PACE is seeking an enthusiastic and creative BCBA - School Behavior Analyst, to provide behavioral support and program development for our K-12 School located at our Sunnyvale campus. As a School BCBA, you will oversee and train staff on behavioral programs for students on the Autism Spectrum. Essential Functions: Provide behavior consultation and services to children in the PACE School. Develop training for Aides, Teachers and other staff and present monthly training sessions. Develop and review functional and motivational behavior assessments, behavioral plans and interventions. Conduct on-site and direct observation of student's behavior and track progress, presenting suitable data assessment for the condition. Model the skillful usage of basic behavioral procedures including: behavior specific praise, effective prompting, and behavior reduction procedures. Behavior Intervention Coordinator

PACE is currently searching for a Behavior Intervention Coordinator (BIC) to support the Director of Behavior Services within the school and residential programs. The Behavior Intervention Coordinator would be responsible for behavior assessments, intervention plans, training and ensuring that the behavior plans are implemented with the utmost integrity. In addition, this position may be responsible for training staff on behavior management techniques and intervention strategies, on crisis management or as directed by the Director of Behavior Services.

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Behavior Plans – Assists with the Director of Behavior Service’s behavior assessments. Ensures that students/consumers have appropriate behavior support plans in their binders and that intervention plans are being implemented with integrity. Reports to the Director of Behavior Services on the student / consumer progress, behavioral issues, handling of incidents by staff and how behavior plans are being implemented.
  • Intervention Plans – Gathers all the necessary information from student / consumer files and observations to be able to provide information on antecedents, consequences, maintaining functions of behavior and intervention strategies. Assist the Director of Behavior Services on the development and implementation of intervention plans. 
  • Crisis Management – Manages behavioral crisis of identified students / consumers following the behavior plan and implements behavior intervention plans during crisis and or problem behaviors. Provides training and support to staff as directed by the Director of Behavioral Services.
  • Observations – The Behavior Intervention Coordinator will conduct observations both in the residential homes and at the school to report progress on behavioral issues and behavior plan implementation by the staff.
  • Documentation – Reviews incident reports to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of behavior intervention techniques used by staff. Examines the school and residential data on a monthly basis. Completes inter-observer analysis to ensure that all staff maintains thorough and accurate data collection is accurate and appropriate behaviors are identified and defined. Gathers the necessary information from the student / consumer files and observations to provide data regarding antecedents, consequences, maintaining functions of behavior to the Director of Behavior Services. Tracks data from incident reports to assist in the evaluation of staff training and the overall program.
  • Behavior Tracking – The Behavior Intervention Coordinator will gather all necessary data from identified student files, and observation to provide information on student / consumer progress via graphs and or charts, in addition, to providing behavior trend information to the Director of Behavior Services.
  • PECS – Uses Boardmaker to create behavior icons and appropriate visual supports for the students / consumers as directed by the Director of Behavior Services.
  • Staff Training – Provide training for staff on behavior management strategies as directed by the Director of Behavior Services.
  • PACE Policies – Enforce PACE policies. Support management in ensuring that staff is knowledgeable and understands PACE policy. Ensure that all staff is clear on the program’s expectations of them through thorough communication.
  • New Hire Training – Assists and may present formal  staff training as directed by the Director of Behavior Services to promote well informed staff and ensure the quality of the program and safety. Provides ongoing supervision of at least one month of new staff to assist with the integration of staff and help answer questions.
  • Behavior Training – Trains staff on behavioral intervention and support plans. Ensures that all staff fully understands, are able to follow and implement behavioral and support plans for consumers. May conduct training as directed by the Director of Behavior Services.  

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Pushing and Pulling – The Behavior Intervention Coordinator must be able to lift and or push at least 40lbs.
  • Twisting and Turning – Due to the high activity of the program this position requires the individual to be able to physically bend, squat, reach over shoulders, reach over head, reach outward, kneel, sit, walk on normal, slippery, or uneven surfaces and stand.
  • Client Restraint – The Behavior Intervention Coordinator may occasionally be required to assist in the management of the clients during training and therefore must be trained in PACE’s Handle with Care procedures and be capable/competent for personal and staff safety reasons, in administering a restraint.
  • Office Work – This position requires that the Behavior Intervention Coordinator conduct the following office work: Keyboard, Handling, Repetitive Motion of Hands and Feet.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

 

  • Age – 18 years of age or older
  • Education – High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and BA in related field, BCABA,   (MA, BCBA or Ph.D, in Psychology preferred). Competency in English writing and communication.
  • Certification – Possession of current BCBA, Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or BCaBA preferred
  • Driver – Posses a valid California drives license with a good driving record and proof of insurance.
  • Experience –The Behavior Intervention Coordinator must have at least 3 years experience working with autism spectrum disorder and or developmentally disabled population.  
  • Medical – Must have a clear physical health and TB test prior to employment and routinely during employment as required.
  • Clearance – Must possess and maintain a clear DOJ and FBI clearance prior to and during employment.
