New Horizons Charter Academy is seeking experienced teachers K - 7 to join in an exciting new charter school journey.  Candidates should come with a passion for working with all students including the gifted, students with special needs, and English learners.  They must have a knowledge of how to deepen student learning around integrated units of study.  The candidates should understand and know how to use technology as a tool for all learning.  They must want to be a part of a small, exciting learning community which includes active parent involvement.

New Horizons Charter Academy is a second year, independent charter school in the LAUSD area.  The school is located in North Hollywood, California, in the San Fernandon Valley.  It currently serves 160 students, Grades K - 7 and will expand to 180 students in Grades K - 8 by 2015-2016.  New Horizons Charter Academy works to provide students with a strong academic foundation built around the Common Core Standards, a respect for diversity in our society, skills in the integrated use of technology, and extended social awareness.  The goal of the school is for all students to be prepared to live as productive citizens in the 21st century.  Classroom norms are kept at 20:1 at elementary grade levels and 25:1 at middle school.  These norms allow the students to engage in a personalized, project-based approach for all students.  This allows them to acquire the habits and skills to be lifelong learners in a diverse and changing world.

English Learner Authorization required. Administrative Credential a plus.

NHCA makes available to employees coverage under the State Teachers' Retirement System and Federal Social Security.
