The Speech and Language Pathology Assistant will perform services and consultation with teachers at a school site, provide activities designed to develop language skills and articulation skills, including speech production, vocalization and social pragmatics in students with speech/language disorders. Other duties may include administrative work, meetings, and collaborations with staff and parent. What You Will Do: Conduct speech-language screenings using a variety of screening tools and techniques Follow documented therapy plans Document student progress in Welligent system Prepare therapy materials for use in pullout small group setting or in classroom setting Adapt or modify instructional materials as determined by student need and abilities for teacher-use in the classroom. Consult with general ed teachers to co-plan instructional materials or implement strategies Track performance data using progress monitoring tools and report progress on IEP goals Communicate progress to parents, teachers and Speech Language Pathologist in regular meetings, phone conversations and progress notes Participate in IEP process; attend meetings when appropriate and attend parent conferences Creates and maintains safe, positive environment for students Collaborates with members of IEP Team, Special Education team and School site teams Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior Perform other related duties as required and assigned What You Will Bring: Speech, language, hearing development, disorders and rehabilitation Articulation disorders and rehabilitation Effective record ke
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum educational level: Associate’s Degree and completion of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Program Registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant with the State of California Experience required: 1+ year working with students with special needs in an educational setting Valid California Driver’s License
