Job Summary
Del Oro High School is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Head Varsity Football Coach. The Head Coach will work under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director and the general supervision of the Principal and is expected to provide the necessary leadership and to plan, organize, and be responsible for a comprehensive interscholastic football program. The Head Coach will also carry out the objectives of the school athletic program and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Junior Varsity and Freshmen programs. The Head Coach is expected to maintain effective communication with athletes, school administration, staff, students, parents, and the community.
Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS 1. The successful candidate will be required to complete DOJ clearance and pre-employment online training. 2. CPR/First Aid Certification is required. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must have experience as a Varsity Football Head Coach at the high school or collegiate level. OR JV Head Football coaching experience for at least two years. OR Assistant Head coaching experience at the Varsity level in high school for at least 3 years for that particular sport (ex: football experience would be offensive/defensive coordinator) 2. Experience formulating and operating a fiscally sound budget including fundraising activities. 3. Have knowledge of current techniques and methods of coaching the sport. 4. Ability to implement appropriate out of season activities for the sport. 5. Demonstrated ability to motivate young athletes to achieve academic and athletic performance. 6. Utilizing the Inside Out coaching philosophy, the Head Coach must be committed to the personal development of each player on the roster. A Head Coach must also help students develop a competitive nature, teach them about ethical behavior and good sportsmanship, and assist in the development of leadership skills. 7. A proven track record of setting goals for success, yet recognizing the primary purpose is to provide education-based athletics to promote sports as an overall well-rounded growth experience.
