Job Summary

Job Summary

Orientation and Mobility Instructors will organize, plan, and implement orientation and mobility services for adults who are blind and visually impaired and who may or may not have additional disabilities. In addition, O&M instructors at The Hatlen Center are responsible for planning and implementing financial management curriculum for several students, acting as case managers.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Clinical Rehabilitative Credential in Orientation and Mobility from an accredited college or university required. Master’s Degree in Special Education preferred. • Within one year of hire, obtain certification through the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist and maintain the certification throughout employment. • Valid CA Driver’s License with a minimum of two (2) years of good driving history and must be approved by the agency’s insurance carrier to drive agency vehicles.
