Position Title: K-6 Elementary Science Teacher
Scheduled to Begin: 2021-2022 School Year
Work Year: 10 months
Salary: Dependent upon experience
Position Summary:
Carden Hall is seeking an extraordinary educator to fulfill a science position in the elementary/middle school range. The applicant should possess content area expertise, strong instructional ability, and classroom management skills. Carden Hall's purpose is to educate students using Mae Carden’s traditional, sequential, and integrated curriculum. Carden Hall encourages students to think for themselves, to express ideas with clarity, and to reach logical conclusions. Our organization helps students to develop strong character while embodying Judeo-Christian virtues and the ideals of our American heritage. Carden Hall’s science curriculum is built upon Mae Carden’s foundation with NGSS standards integrated into STEM-based instruction. Carden Hall teachers honor each child’s unlimited potential to learn, cherish the learning process, respect the dignity and intelligence of teachers and students alike, and transform each child’s natural ability and eagerness into academic success in a formal teaching environment.
Position Responsibilities:
Applicants must:
- Demonstrate a passion for Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics (STEM).
- Have passion for designing and implementing Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
- Create a culture of positivity and high expectations within a supportive learning environment that captivates and engages students in learning.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for and ability to implement claim-based and project-based learning.
- Measure student progress and learning objectives using multiple measures to inform instructional decision-making.
- Be able to differentiate instruction.
- Be eager to develop professionally and open to feedback.
- Promote positive, open, and ongoing communication.
- Be flexible, optimistic, comfortable with change, and able to learn quickly.
- Willingness to contribute to the success of the team.
- Be comfortable with teaching to a wide variety of age groups and have an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices at different grade levels.
Qualifications:
- Multiple or Single Subject State-issued Teaching Credential (CA or other US state).
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
