EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to:
- Education: Graduation from high school supplemented by college-level coursework in education, sociology, psychology, social justice, marketing or a related field, and
- Experience: Three years of experience related to the position, such as community liaison, recruiter, program advocate, or instructional associate.

THE POSITION:
The current positions available will cover North and South County, but the placement could change in the future based on program needs. The current vacancy requires bilingual Spanish language skills.
The Educational Services Division is currently accepting applications for Migrant Education Program Recruiter (bilingual Spanish required)
The ideal candidate will have the passion to work with at-risk populations like migratory families and be familiar with overall basic needs. The candidate will be willing to learn and receive training on how to recruit students, and as an advocate, become aware of the services within the districts and community that children can be linked to; and as needed, the candidate is willing to drive within the assigned and rest of the six counties of our region (Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, San Benito, San Francisco, Alameda). This individual will have the desire, potential, passion, flexibility, initiative, and the capability to learn and embody the mission and vision of the Migrant Education program.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with at-risk populations like migratory families and be familiar with their children’s needs. The candidate will be willing to learn and receive training on how to enroll students, and as an advocate be aware of the services at the districts and community that children can be linked to; and as needed, the candidate is willing to drive within 6 counties (Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, San Benito, San Francisco, Alameda). This individual will have flexibility, initiative, and the capability to learn and embody the mission and vision of the Migrant Education program.
This position has a work year of 12 months/261 days/8 hours per day.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES
- Assessments and interviews will take place virtually via Zoom Meetings.
- Following the final filing date, the qualifications of all candidates will be evaluated.
- The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written exam, tentatively scheduled for January 16, 2024.
- Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts, tentatively scheduled for January 23, 2024.
- Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.
- Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, tentatively scheduled for the week of January 29, 2024.
- Candidates will be invited over email to participate in examination and selection steps, using the email supplied within their Governmentjobs.com applications, or as updated by candidates in their Governmentjobs.com master profiles.
