Located in Foster City, Ronald C Wornick Jewish Day School is a warm community day school for students from TK through 8th grade. We are a welcoming community with a collaborative team focused on bettering our school, supporting our students, and welcoming our families. Wornick Day School is seeking an IT Director to begin immediately. This administrative position will combine IT support, educational technology instruction, while coordinating Wornick’s external service providers that support our school’s IT infrastructure. They are also responsible for leading educational innovation included but not limited to: technology education, educational technology initiatives as designated by the Head of School or Assistant Head of School. The IT Director will play a critical role in maintaining the software infrastructure of the school and support the many platforms that help our school’s educational program and administrative programs run effectively. They play an integral role in advancing the mission of the school and fulfilling the core educational guiding principles. Core Responsibilities Manage and maintain effective technology infrastructure at Wornick. Work with third party vendors. Identify core systems solutions to technology challenges and problems at school. Supervise any additional staff with tech responsibilities. Maintain effective email and digital communication skills for students and professionals. Work with third party vendors to ensure that digital security and data is protected. Develop and maintain technology budgets, policies, and procedures. Design instructional plan in educating professionals, students and families on effective technology use. Manage the Wornick G-suite. Oversee the use and functionality of the many technology accounts and systems used by professionals and teachers. Continue to explore ways to make our operations more effective using our SIS and to make the overall educational experience more efficient and seamless. Manage and maintain effective virtual tools to facilitate teaching and communications. Support the Senior Leadership Team Members and other professional team members with technology related needs Manage the tech needs of the professional community and delegate leadership to other members of the professional community in supporting technology needs The ideal candidate will: Have a BA and ideally an MA in a related field (Educational Technology, Educational Leadership) Have 3+ years of experience serving in IT or Technology Leadership in a school or education adjacent workplace Possess a deep understanding of current and emerging IT infrastructure and operations, technologies and practices. Ability to be a “super user” and demonstrate best practices in all tech related areas Proven track record of developing multi-year plans that advance a school/institution towards a larger vision of efficiency and proficient technology use. Be collaborative in nature and possess the qualities of leadership, patience and flexibility. Have strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence. Compensation and Benefits Salary for this position is determined by years of experience and credentials. Our expected range for this position is $73,000-$89,000 This position is year round and comes with three weeks of paid vacation in addition to many Jewish Holidays off.
