Job Summary

Under general supervision, to perform complex accounting clerical work in establishing, analyzing, maintaining and auditing financial and statistical records; to prepare complex accounting, budgetary and statistical reports and claims; to recommend the establishment and revision of accounting procedures; and to perform related work as required. • Perform complex accounting and clerical work, following generally accepted principles and practices for accounting and auditing; • Establish accounting systems and procedures; • Classify fiscal documents and transactions; • Prepare clear and concise financial and accounting analysis reports; • Perform statistical and financial analysis and auditing; • Read, understand, interpret and apply specific District, state, county and special project accounting and fiscal requirement procedures, policies and laws; • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions; • Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrated an ability to perform the duties of the position. A typical qualifying entrance background is completion of college level course work leading to an AA in business math, bookkeeping and the principles of accounting or a closely related field; or Highly responsible experience performing technical account record keeping and report preparation work; or Experience at or equivalent to the level of Senior Account Clerk in the Moorpark Unified School District; wherein the incumbent has acquired the knowledge and abilities listed above.
