Job Summary
Under direction of the Director of Communications, the Communications Coordinator administers the District's digital communications program by designing, producing, implementing and managing content on the District's website, social media accounts and print publications; serves as a member of the Leadership Team in determining the strategic plan related to marketing District events, services and achievements and the branding of the District; develops methods and processes to ensure the highest level of District digital communications.
Requirements / Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media Arts, Communications or closely related field and four years of communications work experience including video production, photography, and visual and graphic design for print, web, and social media. Experience must include responsibility for overseeing digital communications for a public or private agency. Experience in a school setting is preferred. A fully completed application is required. This position requires some evening and weekend work to cover meetings and events.
Examination process: Completed applications will be reviewed for minimum qualifications. Those who meet the minimum qualifications will be further evaluated against a scoring rubric to determine which candidates will advance to the following examinations: Performance Exam, weight: 30%, and Qualifications Appraisal Interview (QAI), weight: 70%.
The competitive basis for this recruitment is Open/Promotional - Dual Certification. Candidates who pass all exams are placed on an eligibility list in order of overall exam score. The list is used to fill current and future vacancies for six months.
Veterans may be eligible for preference points on entrance examinations ("entrance" is defined as candidates who are not current employees of the District). Please attach a copy of your DD214 to your application.
Employment with San Dieguito Union High School District is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background check, fingerprinting, physical exam including tuberculosis, drug and alcohol screening, and an Oath of Allegiance.
Management employees serve a probationary period of one year.
