About the vacancy Location: District Office Hours/Day: 8 hours/day Days/Week: 5 days/week Months/Year: 12 months/year Under direction of the Assistant Superintendent - School Support Services, provides supportive mental health social work services at a school or home site under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker; provides individual and group treatment, family services and case management to students with behavioral, social or emotional problems; consults and collaborates with District personnel and social service organizations in providing needed resources to students and families; works with students and develop programs to enhance the social, emotional and academic wellbeing of students. *** View Job Description for details ***

Requirements / Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in Social Work or related field. Experience: One (1) year experience working with school age children in an educational or social services setting. Experience working with "at risk" students preferred. Other preferred experiences: LACDMH documentation experience, EBP experience, school-based mental health experience. Special License, certification or other requirements: Registration with the California Board of Behavioral Science as an Associate Social Worker Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License and use of private or alternative means of transportation is required. Proof of automobile insurance is required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/DEMANDS Employees must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation and without hazard to themselves or others. Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person and on the telephone. Seeing to monitor student behavior and read a variety of materials Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate assigned instructional equipment Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to file materials Sitting or standing for extended periods of time Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally HAZARDS: Contact with hostile or abusive individuals with unpredictable behaviors.
