The mission of Gabriella Charter Schools is to join academic rigor with the creativity of dance to engage the hearts and minds of young people in underserved communities, empowering them to excel both inside and outside the classroom. Gabriella Charter Schools is composed of two high-performing, dance-themed charter schools in the Los Angeles community. GCS 1 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Echo Park. GCS 2 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Historic South Central. The Physical Education and Health Teacher is responsible for providing students with a foundation in health and physical education that focuses on awareness, strength, conditioning, and stretching through individual, dual, and team sports. Working in collaboration with classroom teachers, the dance department, and school administration, the Physical Education and Health Teacher will design and implement a rigorous program in a learning environment that nurtures and develops our students' physical and health needs. The Physical Education and Health Teacher's role is to give students the tools and information they need to maintain their health and avoid illnesses and diseases.
