Requirements / Qualifications
The Baldwin Park Unified School District is seeking an applicant pool for the Substitute Speech and Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) positions. Under the direction of a Speech and Language Pathologist, the SLPA assists with individual student assessments; assists with the implementation of students’ speech and language Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals individually, or in small groups; provides input at IEP meetings; conducts training of parents regarding speech strategies; consults with classroom teachers; completes clerical duties related to assessments and IEPs. The selection process tentatively consists of the District application review. The Human Resources Department will contact all applicants once the selection process has been finalized. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Associate’s degree (AA) from a community college REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES -Possession of a license authorizing employment as a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant -Valid California Driver’s License; have an acceptable driving record and qualify for insurability by the District’s authorized insurance carrier PREFERENCE -One to two years related experience and/or training The following MUST be submitted with the application: -Ed-Join Employment Application -A detailed resume outlining your qualifications for this position. -Copy of required Certifications or Degrees (high school diploma & college coursework).
