Job Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for a Parent and Family Liaison I for the Whole Child and Community Design Department of the Student Services and Programs Division. Under general supervision, the Parent and Family Liaison I plans, organizes, and implements the activities of Parent/Teacher Councils, Parent Advisory committees, and/or programs supporting college and career readiness and social and emotional learning of the whole child; acts as a liaison between parents/guardians of students, and partner agencies; and arranges, participates in and conducts training sessions, workshops and other events. This position is full-time and will offer the classified benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and will participate in the CalPERS state retirement system. This position is grant funded through 6/30/2025
Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires a combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates possession of the knowledge, and abilities detailed in the job description. A typical qualifying background would include experience in public education involving support of parents and parental interests; and experience planning and organizing training activities, workshops, conferences and other events. Experience with a Juvenile Court and Community School Program, and/or a degree related to education are desired.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:
Designated positions may require oral competency and literacy in English and Spanish, and the
ability to translate orally and in writing from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.
