Vista High School is looking for a Badminton Coach for the 2023-2024 school year. The school is a large comprehensive high school of nearly 2,000 students located six miles from the coast in beautiful north San Diego County. The school’s athletic program has a long history of success and is hoping to develop a strong badminton program.
The Vista High School Badminton program is:
· Part of a new league in the North County Conference and will compete against Torrey Pines, Westview, Canyon Crest Academy, Del Norte, Mt. Carmel, and Rancho Bernardo High School.
· A complete program including junior varsity and varsity levels of competition.
Support & responsibilities for the Badminton Coach includes:
* Extra-duty salary compensation - (One stipend each, Varsity, JV)
* Assist in Practice planning & game preparation
* Assisting Issuing uniforms and equipment
* Acting as a role model for integrity, hard work and Vista HS in all interactions on and off campus.
* Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director or Administration.
The position requires the following qualifications:
* At least three (3) years' experience in coaching high school Badminton.
* The ability to establish and maintain a competitive tradition in a climate that supports student success with high student expectations.
* The desire and ability to compete with area high schools in various CIF competitions including all CIF sanctioned tournaments and playoffs.
