SALARY
All new hires will be placed at the starting salary step of this classification ($7,253). Employees are eligible for a step increase on their anniversary date each year, up to the maximum step 5 of this salary range ($8,838).
ABOUT THE JOB: Under general direction, implements the overall strategic objectives for content and design of the official district website and all school site websites; provide support, training and service to District Office staff; and performs related work as required.
JOB DUTIES: Designs, publishes and updates new and existing websites and pages for the District; provides continuity of the District's website including programming, development and marketing; assists schools and departments to develop and maintain active websites; consults with District staff and departments regarding development and maintenance of consistent and professional departmental and school site websites and pages; creates and edits graphics, animation, audio and video files and place on web servers; creates rich content webpages using web authoring software utilized by the District; programs in standard 4th and 5th generation languages; integrates multimedia assets, search engines and applications into websites; establishes links with other appropriate websites; responds to user expectations for change and dynamic publishing; creates and ensures the functionality of webpage links, online forms, surveys and scripts running behind websites; converts files between various formats; ensures websites are compatible with all browsers and platforms; determines appropriate compression techniques, resolutions, sizes, color maps and depths to ensure images are delivered to the viewer in high speed and quality; troubleshoots problems and related applications and programs that run in conjunction with the webpages; establishes automated systems to monitor website use, analyzes a variety of user data including number of visits, paths utilized and time spent on each page; evaluates user trends and recommends modifications to provide continuous improvement of the District's websites; maintains and updates web servers and applications; evaluates new software for use in research and web applications; makes recommendations related to new software, tools and hardware related to websites; performs on-going research and testing of new tools, software, and products related to web development; implements new web technologies to meet the needs of the District; establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with the Office of the Superintendent, the Office of Public Information, and all district departments and sites; trains identified content owners in the use of web conversion tools and applications and developing web-based applications and programs; and participates in a variety of meetings and committees regarding designing, developing and implementing web-based applications to promote District programs and activities; develops proposals and timelines for completion of website projects.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, web design or a related field; and three years of experience (equivalent to full-time work) in webpage design and maintenance. Significant related education/training/experience comparable to a four-year degree will be considered on an individual basis. Part-time experience will be considered and adjusted appropriately. Any other combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.
LICENSE: Must possess and maintain a valid Class C California Driver License and remain insurable at the standard insurance market rate. Candidates must submit a recent (within the last 30 days) original DMV driving record by the oral rating exam.
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING....
Knowledge of: Principles of database structures; file size and image compression technology; graphic creation and manipulation tools; windows, Apple, IOS, and Android operating systems and server operations; troubleshooting strategies for Windows, Apple, IOS, and Android platforms and Internet browsers and versions; web authoring tools including current web languages; web browsing and enhancement tools; editing, publishing and modifying Web content procedures; FTP/HTTP concepts and technologies; principles of training and supporting technology users; project management methodologies and concepts; office practices, procedures and equipment; oral and written communication skills; and correct English usage, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Ability to: Design, publish and update new and existing websites and pages for the District and sites; program in standard 4th and 5th generation languages as required; apply web programming languages and technologies; design and publish user-friendly webpages, forms and surveys; design professional quality graphics for use on websites; assist and train users in development and maintenance of webpages; work with multiple database structures; plan and organize work; meet schedules and time lines; maintain records and prepare reports; work independently with little direction; troubleshoot hardware and software problems; learn new programming languages quickly; explain technical problems and recommend solutions to appropriate staff; understand and follow oral and written instructions; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
