Job Summary
Job Summary
Day-to-day substitute teaching at the elementary and/or secondary level. Performs the instructional and classroom management processes for teachers who are absent for a day or longer periods. Candidates need to be flexible in their availability. Substitute Teacher Responsibilities: Adhere to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher. Follow procedures and achieve lesson goals. Assign and explain homework. Oversee students outside of the classroom including in the hallways and cafeteria. Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times. Take attendance and document daily notes. Ensure classroom and work is kept clean and orderly. Oversee the normal classroom rhythms and activities. Compile a report for the teacher for when he/she returns.
Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires at minimum a 30-day Substitute Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) Preferred: Obatian a Notice of Employment Eligibility from the Sonoma County Office of Education, or hold a valid California Multiple Subject or Single Subject Teaching Credential; or possess or be eligible for an Emergency 30-day Substitute Teaching Permit (BA or Beyond)
If not cleared by the County Office of Ed candidates will need a Dept. Of Justice background check, TB Clearance, and required to complete online training before starting.
