Job Summary

Job Summary

Perform a variety of secretarial and clerical duties to coordinate school office activities; perform public relations and communications services for the Principal. Prepare and maintain a variety of reports, records and files relating to students, staff, operations and activities; monitor budget as directed; schedule appointments, meetings, and conferences; maintain master calendar and files; independently compose letters, memos, bulletins and other correspondence; register and assign new students; maintain accurate records of personnel, students and other school office records; administer first aid and emergency aid; maintain health-related records; provide work direction and assistance to parent volunteers, PTO board members, office aides and others; operate a variety of office equipment such as computer and printer, typewriter and copier; perform related duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: - 2+ years of clerical experience in a public, private, or charter school office, including experience in all aspects of school office operations, 2 years of responsible secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Education Policies, Business or Public Administration is desirable. - Mandarin proficiency preferred (not required) - Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff and members of the public. - Possess humility, strong work ethics, and a solution-oriented mindset. - Flexibility to adapt and change; ability to strive in a fast paced dynamic working environment. - Demonstrates knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary for the development of report, correspondence, newsletters and presentations. - Demonstrates the ability to prepare reports and presentations in support of the site principal. - Possesses a high degree of personal integrity and accuracy in his/her work and performance. - Ability to operate a variety of data processing and office equipment in support of the school program. - Ability to prioritize and differentiate between issues of a minor nature and those that require serious and timely attention.
