Requirements / Qualifications
A. General Description of Position Goals Under general supervision to perform moderately difficult secretarial and clerical work in an elementary school, continuation high school, or high school department. B. Essential Job Duties: 1. Performs a variety of clerical and typing work related to the function to which assigned. 2. Composes materials and documents such as letters, memorandums, reports, and bulletins for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel, the public, state officials, etc. 3. Assists the site administrator with site budget, chart of accounts and student attendance accounting. 4. Compiles and tabulates statistical data and information from various sources. 5. Composes correspondence and prepares reports independently or from oral instructions. 6. Reviews documents for accuracy, completeness and conformance to established procedures. 7. Serves as receptionist to students, teachers, parents and the general public. 8. Performs student registration in order to provide efficient and courteous student and parent services. 9. Screens visitors and telephone calls. 10. Answers inquiries and furnishes information concerning standards, procedures and programs. 11. Develops and maintains files and records. 12. Greets and assists parent and visitors in Front Office C. Other Job Duties and Responsibilities 1. Operates a variety of office machines. 2. May provide orientation and guidance to office staff. 3. Attends to the basic medical needs of students as required. 4. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience Required: Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: Three (3) years of clerical and one year secretarial experience. Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required: Knowledge of computers and related software. To type at a speed of 45 words per minute or better from clear copy. To be courteous, neat and clean at all times. To be tactful, use good judgment, exhibit integrity and resourcefulness. To be dependable, industrious and in good physical condition. To understand and follow oral and written directions. To establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
