Requirements / Qualifications
The Baldwin Park Unified School District is seeking a Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) Specialist who provides consultation services, conducts AB114 Mental Health evaluations, and provides counseling for students and their families. The ERMHS Specialist will provide intensive clinical assessments and intervention for students with mental health needs beyond the scope of the School Psychologist. The ERMHS Specialist’s clinical background will support Individual Education Plan teams in determining appropriate services, supports, and program placement to address the mental health needs of eligible students in the district (click on "View Job Description" for full details). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE -A Master’s Degree in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, or a related field that would quality as licensure stated below, from an institute of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. -Valid licensure through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Educational Psychologist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or valid licensure as a psychologist through the California Board of Psychology (PsyD or PhD). -Three (3) years of experience in the behavioral health plan process (direct services, treatment plans, progress monitoring), including providing mental health services to adolescent or special education students in a school setting. -A valid California Driver's License, and the availability of a private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites. -Knowledge or experience with Applied Behavior Analysis.
PREFERENCES -Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). -Supervisory and management level. -School setting mental health and crisis management experience.
