Requirements / Qualifications
High School Diploma required • Associate of Arts Degree or its equivalent Highly desirable • Knowledge of basic computer skills
Maintains the school library/media center and multimedia collection; maintains and operates school library/media center; at secondary level, responsible for student laptop distribution and collection, trouble-shooting and communication with technology department regarding repairs and lost or stolen student laptops; participates in the receipt of a wide variety of media for the school library, including electronic, printed, digital and media systems (CD, DVD, DVR, multi-media, computer carts and LCD projectors); physical processing of library materials; oversees the inventory and distribution of the school library; trains and orients appropriate personnel in aspects of technical library processing; assists with the operation of automated circulation and online catalog systems in all the school library/media centers; demonstrates and trains other in the use of digital catalog system; coordinates related data with technology department; may install software upgrades for library and multi-media curriculum, as appropriate; participates in available training to meet new safety and/or technology standards; collaborates with school personnel and/or parent groups in fundraising efforts for additional library and media resources; performs other related duties as assigned; job hours extend into after school for students and parents to access library materials and computers and will vary from site to site.
