General Description

The College of Sequoias Community College District is seeking a Director, Campus Services & Engagement for the COS Hanford Campus. Under the direction of the Provost, and, in concert with District efforts, the Director will manage services at the COS Hanford Campus including but not limited to Student & Student Support Services, Enrollment Management in context of Outreach, Recruitment and Marketing as well as student & community engagement activities and events for the COS Hanford Campus.

In concert with the Provost, the Director will provide oversight for the Student Services Division on the Hanford Campus as well as other Student and Academic Support Services including dual supervision of employees who dual report to managers housed in different departments and on a different campus within the District. The Director will be responsible for event planning and student activities that support Hanford Campus enrollment and retention and will be the designated on-site manager in the absence of the Provost, performing duties as assigned.

The Director will serve as a liaison for the campus to ensure a strong link between outreach for the classes and programs offered on the Hanford Campus and functions such as enrollment management and student support services, with special consideration for the programmatic areas anchored in Hanford. Outreach and marketing will be a central function to ensure student enrollment from feeder schools as well as connectivity with employer and industry partners, working cooperatively with other staff.

The Director will work cooperatively with the Provost to ensure services are delivered to maximally support the faculty and students who offer or enroll in classes on the Hanford campus, in alignment with District policies' and strategic plans.

Broad areas of responsibility include:

• Site/General Administrative Duties: Perform daily administrative duties in support of the Hanford Campus in cooperation with Provost and other staff

• Student Support Services: Coordinate services to support students including oversight of Student Services, Student Support Services and activities related to the office of student activities and affairs.

• Enrollment Management: Analyze data and enrollment trends to coordinate outreach, recruitment, and retention activities for sustained enrollment in general education and programmatic classes on the Hanford Campus.

• Engagement: Coordinate promotional activities and campus events to ensure connectivity with prospective and current students, community, industry and employers.

Job Duties

Site/General Administrative Duties: Perform daily administrative duties in support of the COS District and Hanford Campus in cooperation with Provost and other staff.

• Ensure security and working facilities of the Hanford Campus through communication with Campus Police and Campus Facilities.
• Work cooperatively with District staff, coordinators, managers and administrators to achieve established goals and objectives for the Hanford Campus and COS District.
• Develop and generate statistical data and reports related to areas for which assigned.
• Represent the concerns and needs of administrative areas to the Provost and/or appropriate Deans.
• Coordinate Program Review and program planning for areas of responsibility in coordination with managers across the District; participate in and support the accreditation process.
• Interpret and perform assignments in compliance with pertinent federal, state and local laws, and contractual eligibility regulations for each area of responsibility.
• Review and evaluate assigned programs and services; recommend and implement approved plans and policies to facilitate and improve the operations and programs of the Hanford Campus
• Interpret District policy and administrative decisions to those employees under your supervision.
• Represent the District in activities related to areas of responsibility.
• Prepare and present reports, presentations and action items related to areas of responsibility.
• Write, manage and seek out grants and external funding opportunities.
• Assume other duties normally associated with management and other duties as assigned.

Student Support Services: Coordinate services to support students including oversight of Student Services, Student Support Services and Student Activities and Affairs.

• Daily oversight of Hanford Campus Student Services and Support Services including coordinating work and communication to ensure students have adequate services.
• Ensure connectivity between enrollment services (academic course scheduling) and student services to ensure students are 1) aware of courses/programs, 2) get the support for admission, matriculation and enrollment in both programmatic (CTE) and GE courses
• Ensure Support Services (LRC, Tutorial, Student Success, Health Center, Bookstore, Food Services, as well as Student Services areas) are coordinated and consistently marketed to students in Hanford.
• Ensure integration of Hanford Student Services and related support areas with all other District student services and academic programs to address and meet student needs.
• Work cooperatively with Student Activities and Affairs to support activities on the Hanford Campus.
• Prepare, monitor, and recommend an annual budget for assigned Student Services components of the District and approve and monitor fiscal expenditures for all programs within the areas of responsibility.
• Review and evaluate assigned programs and services;
• Manage, lead, direct and evaluate the work of assigned academic and classified support staff; recommend for employment, direct the assignment of, and direct the evaluation of all assigned staff; work closely and communicate often with managers for shared supervisory positions.
• Provide leadership and direction for staff development for classified and certificated personnel in the areas of responsibility.
• Work in collaboration other District managers on matters pertaining to classified personnel, specifically those that are dual supervised.
• Establish work standards and ensure good customer service is provided by staff members; in cooperation with other managers, facilitate staff training in customer service, team building, conflict resolution, communication skills and other areas relative to the functions of student services.
• Ensure integration of Hanford Student Services and related support areas with all other District student services and academic programs to address and meet student needs.
• Serve on various District committees and participate in professional organizations as assigned.
• Develop and coordinate additional student services at off-campus locations, specifically the Hanford Downtown Annex

Enrollment Management: Analyze data and enrollment trends to coordinate outreach, recruitment, and retention activities for sustained enrollment in general education and programmatic classes on the Hanford Campus.

• Run Reports from Banner, ARGOS, EIS and Early Alerts, etc. and analyze data to make decisions and plans related to student enrollment, retention and success.
• Ensure connectivity between enrollment services (academic course scheduling) and student services to ensure students are 1) aware of courses/programs, 2) get the support for admission, matriculation and enrollment in both programmatic (CTE) and GE courses.
• In cooperation with District efforts, oversee and develop marketing campaigns and materials specific to programmatic areas anchored on the COS Hanford Campus.
• In concert with District guidelines, maintain websites, apps, social media platforms, and produce materials to promote enrollment in Hanford anchored programs and classes.
• Write, design and distribute materials, in cooperation with departments, to promote academic and career education programs of the Hanford Campus.

Engagement: Coordinate promotional activities and campus events to ensure connectivity with prospective and current students, community, industry and employers.

• Organize, design, implement and evaluate promotional activities for the Hanford campus for supporting the goals of the District; serve as key contact for such events/activities.
• Develop, lead and promote, evaluate industry and community events and tours of the campus to promote connectivity with community groups, industry and employers as well as encourage enrollment in classes and programs.
• Coordinate events being hosted on the Hanford Campus by other COS Departments
• Host events for recruitment, promotion, fund raising and development of the Hanford Campus
• Represent COS Hanford at events and exhibitions that promote COS Hanford and the programmatic areas anchored at the campus, cooperating with appropriate Deans.
• Create and maintain databases and customer relationship management tools to ensure good communication with community partners, local high schools and industry partners.
• Implement policies to ensure campus security and safety during events and activities hosted on the campus.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience):

Any combination equivalent to:

• Master's degree in areas related to the position from an accredited institution AND four years of experience or leadership in student services, higher education administration, student affairs, outreach or enrollment management; AND
• A sensitivity to and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
