Welcome to the Santa Maria-Bonita School District website. We are the largest school district in Santa Barbara County with about 17,500 pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade students. In the heart of the coastal agricultural area, we celebrate our families and the support they provide to the students of the District. The District is comprised of seventeen elementary schools, four junior high schools, and one combined elementary and junior high. Requirements / Qualifications
Coaching positions may be available in the following positions: Junior High Coaches for Cheerleading, Volleyball, Track & Field, Cross Country, Boys and Girls Basketball and Boys and Girls Soccer, and for Elementary Coaches where applicable. Jr High School sites are Arellanes, El Camino, Fesler and Tommie Kunst. Junior High Coaches are paid based on a stipend percentage amount of $3,179.55 for coaching assignments. Elementary Coaches are paid a stipend amount of $800. Please see below for the payment amount for each sport: Basketball 100% of stipend $3,179.55 Volleyball 80% of stipend $2,543.64 Soccer 80% of stipend $2,543.64 Track 70% of stipend $2,225.69 Cross Country 70% of stipend $2,225.69 Cheer-leading 150% of stipend $4,769.33 Elementary Coaching Hourly Rate of $38-$40 per hour up to $800 MATERIALS Activities Supervisor Clearance Certificate or mush obtain upon hire. • All coaches must complete Concussion Protocol and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Protocol training prior to beginning their sports. • All coaches must have a current First Aid/CPR and AED training (Life-saving devices that can be used during CPR). • Certificates must be submitted to the HR department which will be placed in your personnel file prior to starting the program. • Parents and students must sign and return the concussion information sheet prior to any practice and competition. (Return to School) • Online instructions for Coaches will be provided, along with; CIF Concussion Information Sheet to be distributed to each parent; Physician Letter to School. (Return to School)
