Job Summary

The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting to fill a vacancy for a Program Clerk in the Student Wellness and School Culture department, supporting the PASS Americorps program. The Program Clerk will assist the program leadership in maintaining program and fiscal data as assigned to meet reporting requirements of grants or program services. The Clerk will work closely with the fiscal/business staff as needed on assigned projects. Under general supervision, the Program Clerk performs specialized clerical duties, of a difficult and complex nature, in support of an SDCOE Program by monitoring support and reporting functions. This is a full-time position, and will offer the classified support benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and participation in the CalPERS state retirement system. The PASS (Promoting Achievement and Student Success) AmeriCorps Program serves students in grades 3 through 12 at 31 school sites across San Diego County, including campuses in San Diego, Oceanside, Vista, Escondido, Valley Center, and Carlsbad. Each PASS AmeriCorps member provides support for 30 targeted students through individual and group mentoring, academic support, grades and attendance reviews, leadership development, guest speakers, service learning projects, and parent outreach. Through their service with PASS, our AmeriCorps members are able to create positive change in our schools and communities.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires three (3) years of work experience in an office support role, involving the use of computer spreadsheet applications (such as MS Excel) to maintain records and prepare complex reports. The Program Clerk also requires knowledge of online information management systems and the ability to use spreadsheet applications to maintain data to prepare assigned reports, correspondence, and forms.
