Job Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for an Account Clerk III for the Retirement Reporting unit of the Business Services division. Under general supervision, the Account Clerk III performs complex clerical accounting work involved in the maintenance, review and processing of accounting, financial or statistical records, reports and accounts; provides work direction and guidance to support staff of an assigned work unit. Retirement Reporting is responsible for reporting monthly payroll information; processing forms for memberships, refunds, and retirements; and serving as the liaison for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) and the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) for all school districts, charter schools, and community college districts in San Diego County. This position is full-time and will offer the classified benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and will participate in the CalPERS state retirement system.
Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to four years of experience in financial, statistical, or fiscal record-keeping work, One year (24 semester/36 quarter hours of coursework) of approved college-level accounting or business training, including principles of accounting, may be substituted for one year of the required experience. This position requires knowledge of the practices and procedures used in accounting financial recordkeeping systems and automated systems for processing accounting, purchasing, and payroll. The Account Clerk III will be required to maintain accounting ledgers and journals. prepare financial reports, and inform financial personnel and vendors of program procedures and requirements. Tentative Performance Exam Date: Monday, January 22, 2023 Tentative Technical Interview Date: Monday, February 5, 2023 Tentative Selection Interview Date: Monday, February 12, 2023
