Natomas Unified School District is seeking a Coordinator III to support our immigrant and English learner students and families. Under the direction of the Director or designee, provide leadership, coordination and supervision to the District’s English Language Learner Program and provide support to the overall instructional program. The Coordinator must have classroom experience with English Learner best practices and current theory. The Coordinator III will assist in providing support to site administrators and teachers in the improvement of services to English learners. In addition to the duties outlined on the Coordinator job description, some of the key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: -Develop and implement the District’s English Learner Program, in alignment with the EL Master Plan and assist schools with procedures, placement, and instruction for English learners as outlined in the master plan. -Establish clear goals for the English Learner Program and use data to monitor student progress and adjust as needed. -Work with schools to ensure proper documentation of student records and proper placement for English Language Development for our immigrant students; work in classrooms for effective ELD instruction. -Coordinate and provide professional development for certificated and classified staff related to the English Learner Program, including support for newcomer immigrant students. -Provide direction regarding the purchase and development of appropriate materials for use in TK-12 classrooms that align with the English Language Development state standards. -Conduct parent outreach and increase parent involvement in schools and advisory roles. -Provide support and resources to English learners, immigrant students, and their families. -Provide leadership, collaboration, and guidance to Teachers on Special Assignment (TOSA) as it relates to English learner support. -Design and implement classes or workshops for t

Knowledge of and experience with the following are highly desired: -Diversity, Equity and Inclusion -AVID Philosophy and Methodologies -Advanced Placement Courses -CTE Pathways -Restorative Justice Practices -Trauma Informed Practices -Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) -International Baccalaureate Pedagogy Experience and Training Guidelines: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities could qualify someone for this position. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Five years of responsible teaching experience. Site administrative experience preferred. License or Certificate: Multiple/Single Subjects Credential required. Possession of an Administrative Credential issued by the State of California or enrollment in an administrative program or internship is preferred.
