Position Description
This is a temporary professional expert position and continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds and approval by the Governing Board.

Situated on the ancestral homeland of the Tongva Peoples, Chaffey College is one of the oldest community colleges in California and serves a variety of communities, workforce partners, and students. While other community colleges are often named after their geographic area, Chaffey College is named after local innovator, George Chaffey, who, among other things, implemented street lights in the city of Ontario. As a federally recognized Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) Chaffey's student population includes over 62% identifying as Latinx, 17% White, 8% African-American/Black, 6% Asian, and smaller percentages of Filipino (2.8%), Native American (0.40%), Pacific Islander (0.30%), or decline to state (2.82%). Furthermore, 40% of our students are first-generation college students, and approximately 62% of students are eligible for some form of financial aid. The current student population identifies as 62% female and 36% male with smaller percentages who either decline to state or identify as non-binary. Approximately 5% of Chaffey's students utilize Disabled Programs and Services for support. To support the diverse needs of these populations and their intersections, the College has developed a variety of robust equity-driven efforts in and out of the classroom including the Center for Culture and Social Justice, Panther Care, Turning Point, Success Centers, GPS Centers, and BLOOM training.
Under general direction of the Director for Social Wellness and Behavioral Support, the Student Wellness Manager is responsible for managing and providing leadership to mental health programs and oversee interns to assist in campus-based mental health services and to support students in crisis. The Student Wellness Manager will further develop collaborative relationships with on-campus and community resources, provide individual and group counseling as needed, and support crisis intervention efforts. This position follows District policies and procedures consistent with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Provide leadership to associates and interns in support of Chaffey College's mission, vision, and core values; and create an environment of trust and open communication
• Respond to program development needs and requests for campus-based mental health services
• Develop and report on Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) program evaluation activities and studies
• Facilitate coordination and integration of campus-based mental health services, including responding to requests for services, clinical recordkeeping, assignment or transfer of cases, etc.
• Attend BIT-related meetings, trainings and workshops for interdisciplinary consult and professional development
• Communicate and coordinate services with internal (e.g., EOPS, Panther Care, Transfer Center, etc.) and external stakeholders (e.g., Community Crisis Response, South Coast Community Services, West End Family Services Alignment, etc.) to maximize student support
• Occasional outreach with Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) and Higher Education Assessment Team (HEAT) within Chaffey College programs or outside in the community
• Communication, Consult and Co-Response with HEAT
• Develop and maintain written campus-based mental health services procedures
• Participate and coordinate with Director in annual program budget planning and implementation
• Establish systems to effectively monitor critical program functions and track key performance indicators such as clinical progress notes, pre/post outcome measures, privacy compliance, etc. using Advocate or any other HIPAA/FERPA compliant electronic health record system (EHRS)
• Work closely with intern training program coordinators to provide opportunities for interns to participate in campus-based mental health services
• Provide periodic in-service trainings and consultation as needed
• Provide weekly individual and group supervision to associates and interns assigned to Chaffey College
• Provide direct therapeutic services to a small caseload under appropriate scope of practice and maintain accurate documentation and records
• Participate in quality assurance activities and ensure that performance evaluation reports are conducted on a timely basis to ensure that all associates and interns are held to accountable job standards, such as attendance, productivity, and documentation requirements
• Participate in proposal/grant writing and program development and evaluation; and monitor performance of assigned programs to ensure contracts and grants are fully implemented and maximized
• Ensure that all therapeutic services delivered are accessible and culturally appropriate/respectful to all students
• Create opportunities to provide psychoeducational presentations to different programs, within the community, professional groups, and governmental agencies to raise awareness, provide advocacy, and inform of the student needs to encourage support and funding
• Ensure appropriate and timely dissemination of pertinent information to program and Chaffey College executive staff (e.g., monthly Board highlights, etc.)
• Attend and participate in Social Wellness & Behavioral Support meetings, Chaffey College staff in-service meetings, seminars, workshops or trainings or any other assigned committees and task force as needed
• Oversee and monitor Evidence Based Practices (EBP) to ensure fidelity to the model is protected and implemented
• Is available to support associates and interns in person or by phone to provide guidance in complex cases or in times of crisis/emergencies
• Lanterman-Petris Short (LPS) designee or support desired but not required
• Other duties as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree (MFT/MSC/MSW)
• Active Board of Behavioral Sciences licensure in the state of California and with no restrictions (two years post licensure)
• Completion of at least 15 units of clinical supervision training CEU initially
• Experience with community college-based mental health services or providing treatment to adults with mental health disorder
• Clear evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and data/electronic records programs

Ability to:
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from students, faculty, administrators, staff, and the general public
• Read, analyze, conceptualize and interpret policy and procedure manuals and office documents
• Maintain a high level of ethical and professional standards in accordance with agency and community policy
• Work independently and professionally with others - including staff members, students, and members of the public - in face-to-face, virtual and telephonic communications
• Conduct risk assessments (C-SSRS) and create safety plans (Stanley-Brown)
• Define problems, gather, transcribe, and post data, analyze, synthesize and classify information, and draw valid conclusions
• Multi-task, establish priorities and manage time, meet deadlines, and perform duties under time constraints
• Flexible and adapt to changing work demands
• Maintain high level of concentration and attention to detail for extended periods of time
• Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
• Communicate and listen effectively in order to give and receive information and instructions

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a 12-month, full-time professional expert position. Effective date of employment will be as soon as a successful candidate is selected and a mutually agreed upon date is determined. The monthly salary is $8,200. Excellent benefits include: health care, dental program, and vision services for employees and eligible dependents; and retirement coverage through the California Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS).

Being able and ready to work onsite at a Chaffey facility or location is an essential function of this job. Being able and ready to work in-person with Chaffey students, Chaffey employees, or other members of the Chaffey community/Chaffey partners/Chaffey contractors is an essential function of this job.

The Selection Process
